How Do I Join a Group?

Some organizations have different groups allowing some renters to rent at a discounted rate or require less lead time. If you belong to a specific group, you can apply and join one of these groups allowing you access to priority rentals and discounts. Some groups require proof of identification ensuring the renter is able to receive any discount and priority.

How do I join a public group?

  1. Begin by going to the organization page of the organization you plan on joining. You will see a Groups heading that lists the  different groups within the organization and provides information detailing priority level, lead time and discount percentage. To join one of the organization's groups, select the apply button to the right of the group.

  2. After selecting apply, you may be prompted to provide verification to join a group. Many of the groups will require a photo ID or utility bill prior to joining. To provide verification of proof of membership, you can upload a photo or pdf by dragging the file or upload the file from your computer. Once you have finished uploading your document you will be notified of your successful upload.

  3. Once you finish applying for a group, you will receive an email notifying you of your application. The organization will also be notified of your application and will be given the choice to approve or deny you to the group.

  4. If the organization approves your request to join a group, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your priority level, lead time, and discount percentage.

  5. You may also check on your memberships to check on your discount percentage, lead time, and others. To do so, start on the Spotz homepage, and click My Spotz. The My Spotz menu should have a drop-down with a few options. Click Memberships to proceed.

  6. The Memberships page will show you all of your active and inactive groups.

  7. Now, as a member of a group, you will see your discount percentage (if applicable) being applied when you make bookings at spaces at an organization you are a group member of.

  8. If the organization denies your request to join a group, you will receive an email informing you of the organization's decision. You will still be able to rent available space from that organization, however reservations will be made at full price.
